See the wiki article on Importing Data. There's also an article about the MetaStock data feed, if you meant that.

What resolution of data do you have in Metastock?

What type of chart you can build from your data:
-If you have tick data you can build any type of chart
-If you have 1 or 5 minute data you can build any chart with a minute or higher resolution
-If you have 60 minute data you can build charts with 60 minute or 1 hour resolution
-If you have data of any other minute resolution you can only build charts from the corresponding resolution.
-If you have 1 day data you can build charts with 1 day resolution or higher.

Some useful information on using Metastock:
-Data is not saved into Quote Manager Data base.
-Real Time Data is not available
-You can only build trades
-One file can contain 65000 entries

You do not need to enable "Merging data sources into a single chart" in case you are using only Metastock data and not merging it with a real-time data feed.
