pardon my question, I haven't got to autotrade yet, this is new to me.

if my system has triggered a statement to "SELL", does MC do the following:

1. look to check if I have a long open position before "selling"?
2. and if I don't have a long open position, MC would ignore the "SELL" statement?

thanks in advance for your answer.

Hello,

1) MC does not support the ExitLong word anymore. Use Sell instead.

2)
sellshort = initiate sell

sell = cover long

buy = initiate long

buytocover = cover short

Sell is used to close long positions. To make a 'reverse' and go into minus SellShort is used.
