Hi, all workspaces and charts on one of my machines are all hung "establishing connection..." log files were automatically sent to support, but does anyone have tips to try to get this running for tonight's session. MC is running fine on another machine. I am using Rythmic.

Thanks. Gordon

1. Check the internet connection... can your browser access any websites (eg.cnn.com)?
2. New anti-virus update? Java update? Windows update?
3. Have you changed any computer settings?

Hey TJ, the connection was fine and nothing at all changed on the machine.

Thanks.

What was the solution on this? I am having the problem on Oanda. Nothing has changed on the system. I use a dedicated server just for MC. The internet connection is fine. I logged into Oanda MC ok. The green light is on next to Oanda in the chart tab, just no data. Error reports:

Establishing Connection...(H:Connecting RT: Offline)

I check the Preferences for Data Server Mode and it is set to Online.

Thank you.

Hi McJohn, I never got an answer and it has happened on me more than once, just on one specific machine. Hopefully you/we will get an answer on it.

I have done a complete reboot on the machine and more often than not it is resolved on the reboot. I am not saying that is the work around, it could just be coincidence.

I had read elsewhere here that you are looking to transition from TS. MC will get the job done, just like TS.

Thank you for the input. I did restart, no luck and I am using a very powerful dedicated server just for this. The odd thing is that I disconnected many times last week and restarted for other reasons, and the charts loaded immediately. It is odd that it is happening now on market open. I do like MC so far, with the exception that there is no support during all of the forex hours. Having to wait 12 hours or so for MC support to come online can be a problem when one is using auto-trading. It would mean that positions would have to be closed manually on the broker side and then just wait and start the system all over again. This is not something expected to happen. Thank you again.

John

As an update. I reinstalled MC, no luck. More than 2 hours have gone by and still stuck on Establishing Connection......Quite irritating. Support, not available for ~ 9 hours. Platforms that offer trading through brokers should be required to offer support during trading hours. At least TS is available during trading hours.

Some more info....When I start MC I am immediately presented with two login windows for Oanda's OAUTH login system. I login successfully to one, then try the next one as it seems to be required. Using the same login that worked before, does not work on the second login. This error has also been reported by other MC users, and also I did not see a solution.

MC, you should consider offering at least email support during trading hours. Especially when there are problems with your demo users. Otherwise, how do you expect to matriculate or convert TS (your competition) to your platform? That is one thing TS is great at, answering questions fast and offering live chat during trading hours. Would it really cost that much to offer support ~ 12 hours earlier than you are currently providing?

I had this problem all day on Friday from my local machine. No matter what I did, I could not get IQFeed to work. This included spending a lot of time with their support. The VPS worked and I could RDP into that.

On Saturday, I switched on the local machine and everything worked as if nothing had happened. I have no explanation.

Alex

Update- IQFeed is dead again for me. Lmax works.....more Monday morning hassle.

Thanks for the info. Mine was working great on the dedicated server until Sunday. Waiting for support.....problem still exists.

The issue was in misconfigured data provider connection.

Hi Henry, after a few months of my trading machine in Chicago never having this hung at "H:Connecting" issue, ALL charts on that machine are hung. But they load fine on New York machine.

EDIT: After doing nothing else, but shutting the application down and restarting it a number of times, it has finally connected. near as I can tell, the culprit is the PnL Connection. What is the issue as this is really unacceptable.
