ATTENTION CQG USERS

Dear users,

At the moment there is a temporary issue with one of the CQG historical data servers.
In order to make sure you connect to the one that is up and running please do the following:
  1. Close all MultiCharts applications;
  2. Make sure all MultiCharts processes are ended in the Windows Task Manager;
  3. Save the attached file (one file for all versions of MultiCharts (32/64 bit) and MultiCharts .NET (32/64 bit));
  4. Unzip it and run it;
  5. Confirm registry modifications by clicking "Yes" in the appeared window;
  6. Start MultiCharts and reload the charts with the missing data.
Please keep in mind that there still could be data gaps when connecting to this server that should be backfilled later.

Will the new release (MultiCharts 9.1 Release 3) resolve this or will this still need to be done when running MultiCharts 9.1 Release 3?

Hello DaveAronow,

This has nothing to do with the MultiCharts 9.1 Release 3 as the issue was with one of the CQG historical data servers. Right now all servers are up and running, so there is no need in applying the registry key. After updating to a new version of MultiCharts the registry key is reset to the default value for accessing all servers.

Hi Henry,
I am trying the AMP demo in evaluation mode using MC64 Version 9.1 release (Build 12411) and I am able to add symbols/instruments (symbol lookup works) but not able to get historical data.

When connecting to a CQG demo account I get:

Establishing connection to CQG: Datafeed Version= 1.0.12411.400
Lost Connection to Data Network
Lost Connection to Data Network
Error message: REMOTING APPLICATION CLOSED

I applied the registry patch but still the same error.

The checkbox for external historical data doesn't seem to impact this one way or the other, although when checked I get an additional error saying "REMOTING APPLICATION CLOSED".

How can this be fixed?

It's currently not possible for me to download historical CQG data in QuoteManager (Version

9.1.11815.400; Server: Live with wss://api.cqg.com::443 and it doesn't matter if "External

historical data" is enabled/disabled). I modified the registry as proposed above.

For example if I want to connect DDH16 (DAX Index Mar 2016) I will get the message
"No security definition has been found: Symbol=DDH16".
Same results with DDZ15 (Dec 15) or EPH16 (ES Mar 2016).

There are no problems with actual data like DDM16 (June 16), EPM16 or future symbols (like

DDU16).

What could be the reason? Any idea?

Thanks in advance.
Fredi

I'm really the only one with the missing historical data?
Are there any known problems with CQG, in the moment?

Could I please get a short feedback?

What dates are you trying to load?. I haven't had any problems with cqg through amp. Demo or live?

Thank you for your reply.

I try to load i.e. DDH16 (DAX future March 2016), the last expired one.
And already in QuoteManager (selecting the symbol and choosing "Connect
symbol") I'm getting the mentioned event message:
"No security definition has been found: Symbol=DDH16"

It is live and has in my opion nothing to do with any dates.

Would it be for you a big effort to try it with the symbol DDM16 or EPM16?
Do you have the same live link (wss://api.cqg.com::443)?

Thanks in advance.

Hello Fredi,

DDH16 has expired on 03/18/16. "No security definition has been found: Symbol=DDH16" means there is no realtime data for the instrument as it is expired.
I have checked it on our end and have not identified any limitations in receiving the historical data for this contract. Please make sure you are requesting the correct dates while the instrument was still trading and that "External historical data" is disabled in the CQG data feed settings.

Hello Henry,

I disabled "External historical data", however without any success.

Do I have to use other settings (not live Login/Password, not Live Server, other link) in QM,
in order to receive historical data for an expired instrument?

Hello DasBoot,

"Error message: REMOTING APPLICATION CLOSED" means your account is not enabled for CQG WEB API (MultiCharts 9.1 full version with EasyLanguage). Please contact your broker for assistance.

That account was registered on this link - http://www.ampclearing.com/multicharts.html - lead from https://www.multicharts.com/market-data-feeds/
Why is it not good for MC.NET?
Is ther any other free demo datasource with real-time+historical data (any symbols)?

Ok, I've registered new demo via link that you posted earlier - http://www.ampfutures.com/platforms/mul ... -language/ - and it works. Thanks.
But you should correct the other link on your website.
