Cross cursor stutters

The cross cursor freezes in place briefly and repeatedly when I drag it across a chart. Also, even when I'm not moving the cursor, it flickers freqently. Any ideas what could cause this? I thought it might be the CPU usage going to 100%, but I've checked that and it doesn't.
I'm using 1.9.440.760, but it happened in earlier versions too.

The freezing problem is someting I've never seen... what kind of charts were you working on?

Volume charts of ES #F, using eSignal for real-time streaming data. Both problems occur very frequently during regular trading hours but very rarely outside of that, so I wonder if its happening every time new data comes in.
I also found using "Remove All Drawings" on all my open charts reduced it, as did turning off "Tracking Time and Price."
