MultiCharts: Trading Software for Automated Trading and Backtesting

I am creating Range Bar charts of 100 and 500 for ER2 using IB data. How is the data cached? In ticks? If I draw a 300 Range Bar chart will it use cached data?

IB is REALLY slow in giving up data.

Yes, tick data is cached and if you select another resolution, it will be calculated from stored ticks.

I know tick data is cached but how are the range bars created? From tick or minute data? And are all range bars, no matter what the range, created from the same type of raw data?

All range bars, in any range resolution, are based on tick data.
