Ruler drawing tool is used to measure and visualize the distance between two points on a chart.

Inserting Ruler

  1. In the menu select Insert, point to Drawing and click Ruler
  2. The cursor will change into a pencil .
  3. In the chart area select where the Ruler is to be placed.

Formatting Ruler

To format Ruler drawing use on of the following methods:

  • Drag the cursor to the Ruler drawing instance that is to be formatted.
    The cursor Pointer will change into Hand , then double-click.
  • Drag the cursor to the Ruler drawing instance that is to be formatted.
    The cursor Pointer will change into Hand , then right-click.
    Select Format Ruler from the shortcut menu.

Style

In the Style tab, you can customize the following parameters:

  • Line Up and Line Down: Select the Color and Weight.
  • Fill Up and Fill Down: Choose the Color and Alpha (transparency).

Labels

In the Labels tab, you can:

  • Toggle labels: Enable or disable labels by checking or unchecking the Show Labels box.
  • Customize appearance: Select the Font, Font style, Size, Effects, and Character Set.
